The wonder of Micro fiber!

I can't tell you how many times I've watched a supposed Pro Detailer struggle to get some sort of film off a car's windows with regular paper towel, or worse yet the dreaded newsprint. Let's face it folks these old methods just take too much effort and don't really get the best finish ayway.
The smart guys have discovered Micro Fiber. These incredible towels will do anything from removing wax quickly & easily to cleaning glass with a quick wipe.
How do they work? It's simple really. Just like your high tech outdoor clothing, micro fibre uses thousands of tiny fibers that are much smaller than those found in the cottons used to make traditional terry towels. These tiny fibers pick up much more stuff off the surface you are cleaning. Also, they don't pill like cotton does so they don't create swirl marks like a terry towel.
One thing that prevents many Pros from using these towels is their cost. A 12" square towel is often as much as $10 each. The Garage Guy has latched onto a bulk source & we can sell them for only $3.25 each! These are so good that you will want to buy enough to have a bunch for glass and another bunch for wax & interior duties. Don't forget the windows in the house & all that stainless in the kitchen.

Professional detailer products now online
After receiving requests from several detailers regarding pricing and product availability, we have decided to begin listing all of the Meguiar's Professional Detailer line on our web site.
Just a reminder that these products are offered in the quantities you pro guys need, like 5 gallon pails, that aren't really suitable for the home enthusiast. Unless of course you are like me & wash all your friends & family's cars!

Stars Of Karting
In the absence of any karting in our household this summer, we decided to visit the Stars of Karting Canadian round at Woodbine racetrack. This semi pro series promised to offer some great racing action for a Friday afternoon. Unfortunately we arrived just in time for the rather pathetic media race. Legendary Canadian horse jockey Sandy Hawley was running away with the race until the second last lap, when his engine started sputtering & he ended up finishing third to some radio guys I had never heard of.We caught a bit of Junior Inter Continental qualifying & then the rapidly approaching lightning storm sent us scurrying back to the car. Who would have know that we were about to experience the worst storm the Toronto area has seen in years.

The Garage Guy's first ever Car Club Detailing Clinic!

Last Thursday, a small crowd of folks from the GTAsentra.net club invaded The Garage and were treated to a casual evening of car care. All the basics of detailing were covered, with emphasis on what tools to have & how to use them to their best advantage. I think the highlight of the evening was the realization that a clay bar not only works wonders, but is easy to boot! That, and seeing how incredible micro fibre towels really are.
You can find out more about GTA Sentra at www.gtasentra.net
For any other car clubs out there, The Garage Guy's Detailing Clinics are a great way to spend a few hours hanging out & talking cars, while actually learning stuff about how to care for your car!
